Overview
Cubtale provides parents with an easy way to track daily baby care activities using physical devices called “Cubs” instead of relying solely on mobile apps. However, the app faced several usability challenges, including difficulties in adding caregivers, UI inconsistencies across different phone models, lower Android user engagement, and a cluttered tracker interface.

The Challenge
The key issues identified were: 1. Adding a Caregiver – The existing process required users to share a "caregiver code," leading to confusion and frustration. 2. User Interface (UI) Inconsistencies – The app’s design did not always adapt properly to older phone models, causing usability issues. 3. Android User Engagement – Android users were less engaged and often stopped using the app. 4. Cluttered Tracker Screen – As more features were added, the tracker interface became overwhelming for users. With a four-week timeline, it was essential to prioritize the most impactful changes. After discussions with the stakeholder, the team decided to focus on redesigning the caregiver addition flow.
The Solution
To address the caregiver feature's usability challenges, extensive research was conducted to gather user insights. This research highlighted confusion surrounding the process of adding a caregiver, both for account owners and caregivers attempting to join a profile. Using these insights, I sketched improved user flows and collaborated with my team to refine the designs before moving into high-fidelity mockups. The updated design aimed to simplify the caregiver invitation process, ensuring a seamless and intuitive experience. After completing the high-fidelity designs, we presented our solutions to Cubtale’s stakeholder, discussing the added and removed features along with further recommendations for future improvements.
